The third Tuesday in January March, May and October
About Surbiton Lodge in Surrey.
Welcome to Surbiton Lodge. We are one of the longest standing lodges in the Province of Surrey, founded in 1886.
The Surbiton Lodge is a well established lodge whose members come from all walks of life and mainly from the local area around Surbiton and other towns in Surrey.
We are engaged in numerous charitable events in Surrey, with a strong support to the local community as much as to the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution. https://www.rmbi.org.uk/
We are always looking for enthusiastic new members to ensure continuation of these good works.
The lodge is fortunate to have comprehensive records and minutes of meetings covering its entire history, many of the early ones written in copperplate handwriting.
One milestone achievement in 1920 was to become one of the sixteen Founding Lodges of the Surbiton Masonic Hall where the Lodge still meets today.
The Hall was dedicated as a Peace Memorial to commemorate the fallen of The Great War, and has become a hub of Masonic activity.
The Lodge has been proud to support charities since formation. The Lodge’s Charity fund was established in December 1887, and has consistently supported the principal Masonic charities. Surbiton Lodge also regularly supports non-masonic charities, including local hospices, children’s homes and medical appeals.
Ancient records mention that one of its members founded the “Lest We Forget” association after the First World War, and the Lodge still makes an annual donation to this cause.
Meetings are held four times per year on every third Tuesday of January; March; May and October.
Each meeting is followed by a superb festive board and social time by the excellent bar in Glenmore House.
